Challenge

Demonstrate that a Sustainability Strategy could address major risks for the business while leveraging on the company’s full potential and existing structure.

Than create a compelling vision, capable of unifying all current and future sustainability efforts, inspiring and allowing for a simple but better communication internally (in each country) and externally (for suppliers and clients).

insight

In parallel with the realization of the Sustainability Report, myself and materials engineer, Stefano Villella, initiated an effort across departments to formalize and deliver the value of a Sustainability Strategy. Aiming to improve communication, attract new clients and talents, improve overall resource efficiency, make the business more profitable, and mitigate future risks.

solution

The creation of the company’s Sustainability Strategy and its implementation plan getting all directors on board from the beginning. The process was done in many steps with alignment sessions along the way until we could translate all intentions into a clear vision based on four key pillars:

CIRCULAR SOLUTIONS
ENVIRONMENTAL CLEANING
ENVIRONMENTAL FOOTPRINT
SOCIAL IMPACT

The commitments were further broken down into dedicated projects and teams with respective managers. I was responsible for key projects on the Circular Solutions, as the Ecodesign Methodology for the Group, and the Ocean’s initiative on Environmental Cleaning. The implementation plan was carried on as a macro project with regular updates to promote the exchange of information and keep everything else on the schedule.
